AUCTION FAQ

How do I Register for an Auction ?

All bidders need to register on our site.

How do I place a bid ?

Select your bid amount as long as it is greater than or equal to the next minimum bid shown on the screen, then click the “Place Bid” button.

What is a Maximum Bid ?

If you enter a bid amount higher than the next minimum bid, the amount you enter is treated as your “Maximum Bid.” Entering a Maximum Bid does not necessarily mean you will pay that price, and you may pay less. We increase your bid by increments only as much as necessary to maintain your position as highest bidder.

What are Bidding Increments ?

Bidding increments determine the next minimum bid that can be placed.

between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 : $100,000

What is a Reserve Price ?

A reserve price (or "reserve") is the confidential minimum price below which the item may not be sold in the auction. When you bid on an item, if your Maximum Bid exceeds the reserve, your bid will be adjusted to meet the reserve and bidding will continue from there.

How does the transfer to live auctions work ?

Some ArtScoops auctions culminate in live auctions. In this case, your maximum bid will be transferred over to the live auction.

How does payment work after an auction ?

Winning bidders will receive an email after the auction with instructions for how to checkout and pay for purchased items.

How does shipping work ?

After an auction, the buyer will be connected with an Artscoops representative in order to arrange shipping. Our standard shipping timeline (from payment for lot and shipping fees to final delivery) is normally 3 to 4 weeks for the MENA region and potentially longer for other countries. You can also arrange to pick up your artwork directly, if applicable.

Will I receive email alerts as the auction progresses ?

Bidders will receive an email to confirm when their bid has been received, and an email to notify them when they are outbid.

ArtScoops cannot be held liable if emails do not arrive. We suggest you check-in periodically on the auction throughout its duration on the website.
